The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Key Responsibilities & Tasks: -

1. Investigate cost saving opportunities and ensure seamless supply of Electrical Components
2. Project management of vehicle lines and alignment against gateways supporting all builds.
3. Manage/ enhance supplier relationships, interact with engineering and negotiate commercial issues.
4. Issue RFQ (Request for Quotation) packages to selected suppliers and ensure timely response from suppliers.
5. Initial review of robustness of quote from suppliers, review and assist in negotiation of best-in-class piece price and vendor tooling costs
6. Support VFM (Value For Money) analysis
7. Support RFQ cost reviews.
8. Support STA function (Supplier Technical Assistance) in areas including supplier site evaluation.
9. Presentation of key supplier data to support STA & PD sourcing decisions, such as quality performance, customer base, delivery performance, level of quality accreditation, technology/process capability and Design & Development capability.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Excellent commercial awareness
* Excellent Project Management skills, strong business acumen, strong administration and organisational skills
* Negotiation experience is required
* Research skills and commodity market knowledge is required.
* Ability to analyse total business case for sourcing, on a total cost basis incl. R&D, tooling, investment and transportation costs.
* Strong computer skills & Project management skills are essential.
* Applicants must be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
* Previous purchasing experience required (Electrical experience preferred but not essential)
* Ability to analyse the total business case for sourcing

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Language skills would be advantageous but not essential
* Driving license and ability to travel overseas
