The Company:
Our client specialises in the design, manufacture, assembly, test, installation and commissioning of bespoke solutions for the nuclear industry.

The Role:
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for ensuring that the Procurement Department are in compliance with internal process and procedures as well as ensuring that all transactions and in particular Sub Contracting Documentation and Terms and Conditions meet Customer requirements. Management and development of Indirect Commodities. Demonstrate and Manage VFM activities/cost down and process efficiencies within the Indirect Procurement Department. Works with Head of Procurement to ensure that all forms and documentation are compliant and in line with Company Policies and Procedures as well as the Procurement of In Direct Goods and Services.

Other responsibilities of the Senior Buyer include:
• Management of In Direct Services Commodities
• Manage RFQ decision matrices for Indirect Commodities
• Manage the Buyer/s that are part of Indirect Procurement function
• Supervision of Buyer/s within indirect Procurement Department
• Introduction of leading procurement practices
• Conduct capital spend and cost benefit analysis in support of strategic sourcing decisions
• Tender written and oral opinions to internal customers on contracting strategies, market trends, and performance issues
• Negotiate changes to contract terms and condition; negotiate / arbitrate performance disputes where required to successful resolution
• Provide advisory services as needed to the Procurement Department
• Establish and maintain close working relationships with customers within the company and contractors/suppliers providing product and services to the company
• Conduct market research to ascertain market support capability including price trends
• Represent Indirect Procurement at Internal and External Stakeholder meetings as and when required
• Report on KPI’d Indirect Procurement Department Performance Measures to Head of Procurement

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ideally 5 years in a purchasing position with a BA degree in a procurement or business related field.
• Must be IT Literate with a good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft
• MCIPS qualified
