The Company:
Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of connectors and components for electrical and communication markets.

The Role:
As business prepares to accommodate 50% increase in sales in the coming years it is critical we have the correct supply partners in place and ensure optimal “Total Cost” is achieved.
It is critical that we have a purchasing professional to we have robust suppliers and processes to enable our business to succeed in delivering to customer expectations.

• Understand full cost breakdown of top 80% spend by supplier
• Broad commodity knowledge on all key directs spends at CMG
• Initiate Kan Ban agreements with top suppliers agreeing manufacturing batch size, min max etc
• Full understanding of site liabilities from a purchase perspective in terms of cost
• Maintain close working with EMEA purchasing group to ensure full alignment with commodity strategy
• Work with suppliers to ensure REACH, RoSH, Conflict Mineral compliance
• Represent Purchasing on all New product Developments at stage 0
• Maintain all site specific Non Disclosure Agreements and Supplier contracts specific for the site
• Arrange Supplier technical meetings / Lead Value Engineering initiatives
• Ensure all component standards and commodity codes are updated and maintained.
• Lead Purchasing element of manufacturing bridge to ensure purchasing targets are supported and aligned with the business
• Ensure payment terms are optimized and aligned with other business units
• Lead Supplier development / Manage supplier relationship specific to CMG - Work with quality to develop score card
• Full ownership of MP&S maintenance / Idea Tracking sheet

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good working knowledge of all Direct material spends, especially Plastics and Metals Raw materials
CIPS qualified
Minimum of 5 years experience of working within a Manufacturing Purchasing role
Working knowledge of Lean, especially Kan Ban
Experience of working within cross functional teams
Experience of working within Target Driven environments
Ability to work to strict time lines
