The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
We are recruiting for a Senior Buyer. Key responsibilities include:

• Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
• Takes responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use.
• Discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers, and is responsible for negotiating refunds.
• Coordinates with operations, maintenance, warehouse and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
• Under general direction, uses specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems, or direct the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support team.
• Established priorities for the completion of assigned tasks.
• Uses judgment to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices.
• May direct resources, prioritize tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
• Relies upon experience, interpersonal skills, and broad knowledge of field to ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this opportunity you must have a completed undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience preferred. 7+ Years work experience as a Project buyer required. Experience with an integrated project management system is an advantage. Experience with KBR’s IPMS system is an advantage.

Preferred Skills include:
Microsoft Office Skills including intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel. Proven experience in commercial negotiations.

Personal Attributes include:
Must have strong leadership and supervisory skills. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing. Attention to detail is critical. Must be a self-starter who enjoys working as part of a team. Must have a high energy level and ability to work under pressure. Must be flexible and able to easily adjust to changes in a very dynamic work environment.
