The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
* Leading a team
* Understand full cost breakdown of top 80% spend by supplier
* Broad commodity knowledge on all key directs spends at Nottingham
* Initiate Kan Ban agreements with top suppliers agreeing manufacturing batch size, min max etc.
* Full understanding of site liabilities from a purchase perspective in terms of cost
* Develop a close working relationship with Nottingham management team to deliver on cost, quality and service from supply base
* Maintain close working with purchasing group to ensure full alignment with commodity strategy
* Represent purchasing on all new product developments at stage 0
* Maintain all site specific non-disclosure agreements and supplier contracts
* Arrange supplier technical meetings, lead value engineering initiatives, lead all supplier issues
* Ensure payment terms are optimized and aligned with other business units
* Lead supplier development, manage supplier relationship specific to Nottingham
* Work with quality to develop score card and focus on service levels
* Full ownership of MP&S maintenance/idea tracking sheet

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* CIPS qualified
* Minimum of 5 years' experience working within a manufacturing purchasing role
* Working knowledge of Lean, especially Kan Ban
* Experience of sourcing in India and China
* Experience of working within cross functional teams
* Experience of working within target driven environments
* Ability to work to strict timelines
