Senior Civil Concrete Inspector

The Company:
International engineering company specialising in industrial facilities, particularly oil refineries and LNG facilities

The Role:
Project: Ichthys onshore LNG Facilities Project (IGL)
Reports to: Deputy QC Manager
Supervises: Lead Civil/Concrete Inspector, Civil/Concrete Inspector, Civil / Structure Inspector, Building Inspector

Activities:
- Review JKC's procedures and requisitions for subcontractors. And finalize JKC's field inspection procedures originated by construction supervisors, and concurrence/approval of QCM.
- Review and approve subcontractor's ITP (inspection and Test Plan), Method of Statement, and inspection procedures.
- Attend kick off meeting for subcontractor, and confirm JKC QC requirements.
- Organize and hold pre-inspection meeting for subcontractor before beginning any inspection activities, and confirm ITP, inspection procedures with the client.
- Coordinate with the JKC's field engineers/supervisors and the Client for QC work. Also coordinate with inspection third parties or other outside inspection agencies when required.
- Check the subcontractor's inspection/test schedule according to construction schedule, and expedite to submitting inspection application when necessary.
- Witness inspection/test such as laboratory at batch plant, soil, foundations, structural steel, concrete and asphalt work. Also join with the client if client witness items.
- Authorize inspection/test reports and QC data from subcontractor or inspection agencies, submit them to the client for approval and compile these records.
- Check the Compilation of original QC documents and QC records periodically.
- Check the calibration of testing equipment and tools periodically.
- Check purchase orders or the subcontractor's requisitions, and evaluate vendors and QC activities when necessary.
- Attend regular QA audit or safety audit for JKC internal or subcontractor.

Terms and conditions for assignment in Field Office in Darwin Australia:
Mobilization Status: Single OR Accompanied
Regular Work Days: 6 days a week (58hours a week)
Meal Allowance: US$50 a day for Single / US$100 a day for accompanied
Accommodation and Commuting: Provided free of charge
Insurance (WCI): Provided free of charge
Personal Income Tax in Australia: Paid by the company
Home Leave: Single : 2 weeks plus travel days after every 10 weeks provided 3 months duty remain at the assigned place
Accompanied : 28 calendar days plus required reasonable travel days after every 12 months provided 4 months duty remain at assigned place.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Educational background of at least high school graduate or equivalent. Preferably Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, or any other Degree/Diploma with proven track record as the inspector.
- Minimum 15 years experience in working as a civil, structure and building inspector in the organization of main contractors.
- Fluency in speaking and writing English, PC skills and ability for using E-Mail, Word, Excel.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
1. Power Plant/LNG Plant experienced person
2. Experiences with major Contractor for Oil/Gas construction
3. Experiences with Major Oil / Gas Company more than 20 years experienced person.
