Our client is a global leader in the design and delivery of infrastructure, power and major engineering projects around the world. Their clients come to them for a wide range of advice, resources and skills - in engineering, maintaining infrastructure, managing construction, planning and strategic thinking.

The Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to work at our client's Birmingham office. The role consists of:

Assist in addressing current drainage skills shortage within H&T to improve delivery and reduce poor performance risk, especially on D&B schemes.
Fulfil assignment role on the Birmingham City Centre Extension which can not be fulfilled by existing resource.
To assist with the current Midlands market expansion for H&T.

The Senior Engineer will be required to carry out the following:

Expand Birmingham Highways team capability as a direct result of recruitment and training of junior staff.
Manage the drainage resource on the Birmingham City Centre scheme to meet programme, price and quality requirements.
Assist in the management of junior members of the Birmingham Highway team to achieve their Pathways objectives.8.


1. Minimum of 5 years post graduation design experience.
2. Highly skilled in the use of Micro-Drainage.
3. Experience working with Contractors, preferably under Design and Build.
4. Urban area drainage experience.
5. Rail drainage design experience desirable.
6. Demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety including CDM.
7. Good communication skills and experience of building relationships with Clients.
8. Proactively works as part of a team to deliver scheme and project objectives.
9. Strong problem solving skills.
10. Ability to identify and manage risks.
11. Commercially aware.
12. IT literate in basic MS packages.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Recognised Civil Engineering Degree
Chartered or very near Chartered
Full drivers licence essential
