The Role:

SENIOR CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

An experienced civil/structural engineer with a proven track record in the production of engineering/technical deliverables on small to medium multidiscipline design projects associated with industrial facilities. Experience in the Nuclear Industry would be preferable, but is not essential. The candidate shall be required to lead technical projects with a team of up to ten engineers involved in civil/structural engineering and related disciplines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Project definition and the assistance in the preparation of fee proposals
•Preparation of conceptual and scheme designs
•Management of engineers undertaking detailed design solutions in accordance with the relevant British Standards
•Checking and preparation of technical specifications
•Liaison with clients to ensure technical deliverables are delivered on time to the client requirements
•Checking of the detailed design deliverables and engineering drawings
•Management of workload and resources.
•Develop junior staff

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualified to degree level
Experience in managing the design process and familiar with all relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice.
Technical background in civil/structural engineering with a proven ability to create engineering solutions from client briefs.
Experience of managing a design team in a consultancy type environment
Able to manage time efficiently and meet work budgets and targets
Highly motivated•People/client management skills are desirable
Be able to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
APM qualification in project management would also be useful
Experience in refurbishment and modification to existing structures and buildings is desirable
