The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing Senior Civil & Structural Engineers to join our client's North West Office on a 6 Month Project Schedule (with opportunities to move to other similar studies) for a FEED study.

As part of a long term alliance with a major Oil & Gas customer based in Kuwait our client are undertaking major revamp and modification/upgrade projects to help modernize their customer’s Main Gas Gathering Centre located at Wafra, Kuwait with many sub-centres throughout the three main oil fields that require modifications and further expansion.

The candidate will be a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer with a proven track record in brownfield onshore oil and gas development projects to help support and grow a UK based project engineering design team that will execute FEED and detailed design projects as part of the overall modernisation project. We also handle innovative projects involving Concept/ FEED studies, EPC Detailed Design Projects and Process Safety and Risk management as part of the overall project scope of works.

Good communication and presentation skills are essential. Occasional travel to Kuwait may be required.

Candidates who can work in all of steelwork, concrete and infrastructure design along with FEED experience, are preferred.

Core Responsibilities:
To undertake both Civil & Structural engineering design work with full regard to Safety both in design detail and engineering design execution
To carry out design work in compliance with US Codes and Standards and Project Basis of Design.
To design and check all work in line with our client's procedures.
To be innovative in design work with due regard to minimisation of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity.
To work in an effective and collaborative manner within a multidiscipline engineering team.

Specific Accountabilities:
To implement the allocated engineering work, utilising appropriate skill and experience and as directed by the Lead Civil and Structural Engineer.
To clearly understand the Design Basis, Scope, Codes and Standards applicable to the work carried out and raise deviations where necessary.
Responsible for maintaining work progress (budget, schedule) and raising change documentation where necessary for allocated tasks.
Liaison with client, vendors and outside parties in a professional manner
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Project.
Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Project. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering - mandatory, extensive experience in discipline.
Substantial experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochem Projects. Note other heavy industrial experience such as Power, or Nuclear may be acceptable in lieu, but some good quality Oil and Gas experience is required.
Good knowledge of US design codes.
Competent user of Staad Pro V8i and Tedds.
Proven track record in both Civil and Structural engineering design.
Excellent technical communication and coordination skills.
Experience in working in a multidiscipline environment.
Experience of projects in the Middle East a benefit.
