The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer to join the North East Teesside Office on an Agency hire basis.

The candidate will be a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer with a substantial, recent and proven track record in onshore oil and gas, LNG, refinery, chemical or petrochemical projects and will be able to demonstrate experience, in a similar and relevant position, of FEED and detail design.

Good communication and presentation skills are essential.

6 months plus duration

Some travel within and outside the UK may be required.

The individual will be self-motivated with a proven track record in civil and structural detailed design projects to help support and grow a UK based project engineering design team executing FEED and detailed design projects with minimal supervision.

Good communication, leadership, presentation skills and sensitive management of 3rd parties is essential. Full UK driving licence is also a requirement.

Checking of other engineers work will also be expected

Technical competency and experience:

Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering – preferably chartered MICE,

Significant experience in Petrochemical and Oil & Gas FEED and EPC Design Projects in a similar role with similar international Design Contractors.

Significant experience of relevant piping codes and standards.

Excellent technical communication and coordination skills.

Experience in working in a multidiscipline environment.

Full UK driving licence.

Good understanding and working knowledge of the relevant national and international standards, design codes and legislation applicable to process plant piping materials and pipe stressing, particularly ASME B31.3.

Self-motivated, thorough, well organized, methodical and commercially astute.

Proven track record in engineering design.

Proven decision making and problem solving abilities

Proven record of client satisfaction

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Lead and undertake both Civil & Structural engineering design work with full regard to Safety both in design detail and engineering execution.
Carry out design work in compliance with, UK statutory requirements, UK Codes and Standards and Project Basis of Design.
Be innovative in design work with due regard to minimisation of cost, risk and schedule whilst maintaining technical integrity and display sensitivity to the 3rd parties affected by the project.
Monitoring the checking, approval and internal and external review of all Project Civil and Structural deliverables within his control to ensure that they meet company, project and Client quality requirements.
Undertake all work within the estimated man hour budget and within schedule.
Keep all project documentation in a state of readiness for audit purposes.
