The Company:
Our client is a Global Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group inside which you’ll find an incredible range of expertise and opportunity.
They offer their clients a complete range of skills and services so that they can work with their teams right from the earliest ‘ideas’ stage of their planned investments, through the study or concept selection phase, the front-end design, the EPC phase, and on into the commissioning and start-up phase.

The Role:
The Commissioning Engineer reports to the Head of Commissioning and is accountable for Technical Governance on projects. In this role you will provide specialist commissioning and start up support to the Commissioning Group's site teams during the execution of EPCC projects. This is a contractor opportunity that is based in Teesside and will involve field commissioning and significant procedure writing.


• Prepare detail plans and project procedures
• Prepare start up plans and develops operating procedures
• Ensure that site project execution is undertaken in compliance with company and department procedures and commissioning schedules and that environmental and safety standards are maintained
• Provide performance and other project data for incorporation into the groups technical library
• Responsible for the continuous improvement of the 'smart Start' inititative and providing feedback on the departments procedures and execution methods
• Organise day to day activities of commissioning Engineers and Process Engineers assigned to site
• Carry out detailed plant checkout against engineering flow diagrams
• Act as day to day co-ordinator between client and construction personnel on commissioning matters
• Assist with client (operations) training if required
• Direct or advise Client's staff with regard to correct pre-commissioning, Commissioning and start up procedures
• Investigate technical problems with assistance from specialist engineers and suppliers
• Prepare, or assist in preparing, guarantee tests, and completion documentation
• Prepare and assist with Client hand-over and with completion of contract custody transfer documents as appropriate
• Prepare a final report to include summary of problems, solutions, and recommendations for future improvements
• Prepare a Site Closeout Report
• Review performance progress with COMT Manager
• Ensure commissioning related experience and knowledge gained on projects is captured and incorporated into future projects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Prior field commissioning and procedure writing experience
• General background in Process Plant Commissioning
• Previous experience at Lead Commissioning Engineer or Manager level
• EPC experience and bid evaluation experience
• Previous pharmaceutical experience is preferred
