The Company:
A major oil and gas operator.

The Role:
The position requires a team player with a technical background in well design and execution.

The candidate will have to;
- Be able to work in a multi-discipline team of people with different cultural background.
- Responsible for all well engineering/services aspects of the well conceptual process and challenging activities (Design, Construct, Modify or Abandon wells).
- Comfortable with well design / casing design in support of the field development plans and asset reference plans such that the Asset’s oil and gas reserves can be explored/developed economically.
- Act as the well engineering -services liaison for the Assets.
- Drive Top Quartile / Better to Best performance
- Mentor and Coach Russian Concept Engineering staff.

Accountabilities
- Accountable for the well design.
- Accountable for the input in detailed drilling/completion proposal, budget and DRB.
- Capture, initiate & implement new Well Engineering technological opportunities in Field Development Plans.
- Fully own, support and implement the Global Well Delivery Process requirements in activities in which you are engaged.
- Provide support to all Performance initiatives and to facilitate learnings / technology transfer to Asset team members on areas critical to the business.
- Identify long lead material requirements for projects.
- Actively participate in the discussion for the drilling sequence and integrated planning.
- Optimise well design and incorporate new technology challenges. All field developments are different and each requires innovative and novel techniques.
- Provide well designs that allow TQ performance.
- Develop Young Russian Staff to take similar positions


Special Challenges
- Geographical isolation requiring the foresight and Planning to mitigate all risks and ensure contingencies are in place.
- Sub-Arctic off shore environment
- Extreme temperatures requiring special attention to the protection of personnel and equipment.
- Developing and managing the numerous interfaces.
- Delivering the project on time and within budget.
- Shallow Gas and other Sub-surface anomalies
- Challenging Wells, both size and complexity.
- CRI, Big Bore Gas, Oil, Producers, Smart Water Injectors, ERD, Land Rig Water Disposal Wells

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The following qualification requirements:
- Higher professional education in Engineering
- 7 + years experience in Well Engineering (with offshore experience) with in-depth knowledge of well design and knowledgeable about latest technology related to well design and completion.
- Good English language communication skills (both written and oral) as well as interpersonal and organizational skills as the incumbent is expected to liaise with individuals from a cross section of the organization and also external parties.
- At least 2 years exposure to Rig operation in a supervisory position.
- Manage and prioritize work, in co-ordination with other disciplines, to meet commercial and business objectives.
- Innovative and ability to capture best practices
- Proven abilities in onshore and offshore oilfield operations.
- Vast Experiences in new technology, GWDP, DtL, QA/QC.
