The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
An opportunity is open for a Senior Construction Engineer - Tanks providing construction expertise to both the main contractor and company teams utilizing an array of experience so as to ensure the best and safest construction methods are adopted during execution of the cryogenic and non-cryogenic tanks subcontracts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pursue the management and mitigation of identified construction risks.
• Ensure tanks are constructed in accordance with the engineering drawings.
• Exercise all aspects of technical oversight over main contractor such that the project is safely delivered to the required standards and agreed schedule.
• Hands-on support to main contractor and company teams during construction and pre-commissioning phases with the day to day coordination, control and performance monitoring of the main contractor and tanks subcontractors primarily on civil, structural and mechanical issues and interfaces, ensuring that the cryogenic and non-cryogenic tanks subcontracts are managed and carried out safely and efficiently.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations to the company’s project team and act as an advisor on construction standard and best practice to company’s project team as required.
• Provide an interface between construction and engineering by supporting discipline engineers during constructability reviews for both company and main contractor.
• Interface with company’s and main contractor’s technical disciplines including QA/QC.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this role you will hold at least a tertiary qualification in Mechanical engineering and have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:

• Oversee the construction of one propane refrigerant sphere plus 17 miscellaneous internal floating roof, cone roof and dome roof tanks and including all associated structure, piping, instrumentation and electrical.
• Attend construction HAZID workshops which identify HSES risks prior to the development of construction method statements, safe working method statements and job hazard analysis.
• Ensure best practice construction considerations and methods are delivered to the project. The Senior Tanks Construction Engineer holds ownership for company’s review of subcontractor’s construction method statements including safe working method statements.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experienced “tank” engineer (both cryogenic and non).
• Sound understanding of the oil and gas business including onshore LNG
• Experience with major international Greenfield project construction.
• Demonstrable experience in the management and supervision of main contractors and subcontractors in multiple scopes, including progress reporting and HSE.
• Minimum 20 years’ EPC experience of which 10 years is in construction of cryogenic storage tanks.
• Demonstrable experience in the supervision (company’s and main contractor’s representative) and construction (subcontractor’s construction superintendent) of cryogenic and non-cryogenic tanks on international assignments.
• In depth understanding of the International codes and standards pertaining to cryogenic and non-cryogenic tanks.
• Sound knowledge of cryogenic and non-cryogenic tanks construction methods and materials.
