The Company:
Subsidiary of major energy company, operating offshore gas fields and onshore gas processing terminals.

The Role:
We are looking for applicants with experience in end to end tendering, preferably in oil & gas but this is not essential.
Someone who has experience in a senior role, dispute resolution and mentoring/coaching. The role will be based in Heysham as part of our Supply Chain team.

The Role


Liaison and functional representation with internal and E&P Senior Management.
Ensure suppliers and contractors are selected in a rigorous and transparent fashion, whilst meeting legislative and business requirements.
Provides support in developing contracting strategies and tender plans for assigned teams/departments and/or specialist contracts and supports the delivery of contract performance targets. Develops contractual awareness within assigned teams/departments and ensures a clear financial understanding in terms of contract costs, accruals, etc.
Leads the tendering, evaluation and negotiation process in relation to the award of contracts and agreements and makes recommendations to management, ensuring strict compliance with supply chain rules, procedures and industry codes of conduct.
Contributes to and leads dispute negotiations.
Drafts contracts and agreements, processes amendments and variations and ensures internal approvals are obtained.
Ensures contractors/suppliers are managed in an integrated manner in order to achieve one team spirit and no boundaries. Identifies opportunities to develop and promote positive relationship management with contractors and suppliers, leading to partnerships which focus on creating sustainable value.
Promotes continuous improvement and high performance in all aspects of contracts and purchase order management.
Maintains an up to date knowledge of technology, industry supply chain initiatives and market trends/pricing.
Takes ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge.
To mentor, train, manage and support the Supply Chain and Logistics team to ensure the clients Supply Chain and logistics team maintains its reputation as ‘best in class’.

The Person


Demonstrable experience in procurement of goods and services (preferably within a large Upstream oil and gas organisation).
Excellent knowledge of contract risk management
Appreciate the difference between cost and value.
Negotiation experience
Numerate, analytical and logical
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good knowledge of office/supply chain IT systems/software
Problem-solving experience
Leader of Self.
Able to establish effective relationships with suppliers and ensure communications from suppliers and potential suppliers will be addressed promptly and courteously in order to support and enhance the Clients corporate image.
Ability to respond to a changing business environment.
Integrity in all business dealings.
Member of relevant professional organisation e.g. CIPS (Desirable)
Degree or equivalent in e.g. Supply Chain Management, Oil and Gas Law or other relevant degree
