The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
•Strive to create a safe workplace and to protect the environment
•Contribute to the execution of the contracting strategy, in support of all contracting activities
•Provide advice and support to all levels of Company personnel on matters relating to contracts planning, strategy and performance management.
•Undertake all formal contracting activities relating to onshore/offshore service/work contracts including developing strategies, pre-qualifications and tender list development. Issue of ITT, analysis of tenders, contract negotiations, preparation of contractual documentation and contract management plans.
•Provide comprehensive advice on commercial and business risk
•Manage the challenge of a varied portfolio of contracts with different contractual issues and priorities
•Promote continuous improvement and high performance in all contractual areas
•Support and coach Contracts Analysts as agreed with Team Lead,
•Undertake post-award contract administration including drafting and processing of amendments, variations and obtaining internal approvals. Contribute to the process of continuous improvement in the contracting process, including the adoption and sharing of best practice.
•Ensure a high quality of service is provided, that activities are completed to the highest professional and integrity standards and in accordance with the company contracting procedures/processes and business controls, whilst ensuring all decisions/commitments are recorded in an auditable manner.
•In conjunction with department manager’s company representatives, monitor the performance of contractors and suppliers, developing highly positive and constructive relationships with key contacts, internally and externally and hold regular feedback meetings with these stakeholders...

•Capability Development - Looks for opportunities to develop technical and personal skills both by formal learning interventions and work experience. Coaches team colleagues where appropriate and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning

•People Processes - Engages with people processes in a positive and timely manner. Demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes.

•Performs other duties, completes additional tasks and supports ad hoc projects as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree qualified or equivalent
•Relevant experience in a contracting environment within the oil and gas industry
•Solid understanding of the oil and gas industry supply chain market and it’s contracting principles and practices
•Full understanding of current UK/EU procurement legislation and the compliance requirements in terms of Supply Chain.
•High level of Commercial awareness and fully developed analytical skills in terms of contractual costs.
•Comprehensive understanding of contractual risk allocation.
•Highly developed facilitation and negotiation skills
•Extensive experience in post award contract management.
•Ability to work on own initiative
•Ability to perform effectively under pressure
•Assertiveness/Ability to articulate clearly
•Numerate, analytical and logical
•Good organisational skills
•Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally
