The Company:
Our Client is one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in Europe.

The Role:
Provide guidance to and mentor C&P personnel in the requirements for
i) approval of documentation required for and leading up to contract placement and
ii) preparation of finalised contracts

in order to:
• ensure the quality of contract strategies, ITT’s, TEP’s, recommendation to award and contract documentation
• facilitate the approval process
• provide transparency and clarity of applicable documentation
• protect company and its personnel from subsequent challenge
• safeguard cost recovery
• provide best practice documentation
• upskill members of the C&P team in application of company procedures and best practices
• support development as required of local processes and procedures
• as detailed below, oversee preparation of key contract documentation including contract strategies
• work closely with C&P personnel to upskill and develop the approach, considerations and subsequent drafting required for proposals and recommendations applicable to the contracting process to ensure the quality of subsequent deliverables
• act as the focal review point for items requiring approval following review with SCM/C&P Mgrs so as to focus on key items noting the potential volume of transactions
• coordinate with the Local Content team to ensure understanding of local requirements and potential impact on strategies and recommendations
• oversee consistent and quality input across the business unit into the SCM deliverables
• ensure alignment with and assure local implementation of robust and documented SCM policies and procedures consistent with the clients, with JOA and partner requirements
• Advise SCM/C&P Mgrs on Assurance and Compliance issues.
• Advise and support the CA’s/CE’s with preparation, submission and following-up on CRB submissions.
• Maintain the SCM Assurance procedures, Assurance Plan’s and ensure close-out of assurance actions emanating from assurance reviews. Ensure that relevant work procedures for contracting and procurement activities are up-to-date and in line with SAP, and in liaison with the Line initiate new (local) procedures as and when required.
• Set-up a reporting structure and ensure all CE’s/CA’s report against it. Follow-up on any issues arising from such reporting to ensure due compliance with company’s policies and procedures.
• Align with Group SCM with regard to their requirements on SCM Assurance aspects.
• Assist the business with preparing, submitting and following-up on CRB submissions.
• Document and review all observations and identified gaps in the GCPP and initiate the process to remedy such gaps with a view to enhancing its usefulness..
• To ensure compliance by the contract holders of the rules, procedures and guidelines issued by the Group, Partners and Local Authorities.
• support SCM personnel in the dissemination of best process practice and learning across C&P activities
• provide advice on process issues
• review any items proposed for the CRB for completeness and quality of input; comment, challenge and have corrected where applicable on content prior to CRB review
• oversee finalisation of identified key contracts

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 15+ year contracts and C&P process experience with substantive exposure to all disciplines and issues within the supply chain.
• International exposure within an Oil and Gas operating environment.
• able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• previous experience of C&P mentoring an advantage
• collaborative with heightened communications and related interpersonal skills
• able to address and provide pragmatic solutions for a wide range of business issues
• sound grasp of C&P processes
• provide C&P expertise and advice
• good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• commercially aware with sound business acumen.
• strong interpersonal skills at all levels
• high attention to detail and quality
• practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• establishes priorities demonstrates a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
