The Role:
Manage the commercial delivery of all major contracts awarded within own portfolio, by developing comprehensive post award contract management plans and ensuring all variation requests are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Contribute as a key member of the Decommissioning team, providing support to contract owners, holders and guidance to CP team contracts engineers throughout the define and execute phases of the project. Ensure business ethics are maintained to the highest level and ensure compliance with the company Statement of General Business Principles.
Develop contracting strategies and tactics for application in differing contracting markets.
Inclusion of the category management process and supply chain management requirements into the contracting strategies.
Collection, analysis, validation, maintenance and capture of information and market intelligence relating to the applicable contracting market.
Development and consistent application of prequalification processes, procedures, tendering, bid clarification, evaluation and recommendation for contract award processes and procedures that are in compliance with the company Business Principles.
Ensure that the approved HSSE standards, Life Saving Rules and Goal Zero policies are fully incorporated in the process of contractor and supplier selection and in the subsequent work execution phases. Manage and / or advise on the preparation of submissions for the various Contract Boards to ensure compliance with procedures.
Structure and manage contracts and agreements in a proactive manner with the objective of minimising claims and disputes.
Support/Lead project teams in negotiations with contractors to achieve the mandated contract objectives.
Coordinate / conduct / lead reviews and audits of project contracting strategies, plans, and contract management processes and procedures to be applied to individual projects.
Developing and sharing best practices, work processes, systems and tools, based on experience gained in a portfolio of contracts.
Advice and support to Project Directors, Managers and Engineers on the fundamental principles, processes and procedures to be adopted in developing and implementing contracting strategies and tactics. Interact effectively with other applicable parts of the global organisation to ensure delivery of a fully integrated strategy.
Maintain a close working relationship with project services, finance, legal and other functional teams to ensure that documentation is compliant with project reporting and controls requirements and all fiscal and legal regulations.
Maintain good relationships with joint customers, joint venture partners, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure commitment and support.
Flexibility within contracting strategies and tactics is required to cope with the various emerging technical and commercial challenges.
The incumbent will manage significant multi-million pound contracts for key offshore and onshore decommissioning scopes.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A combination of mastery and skill CP professional competencies.
Understanding of strategic, technical, legal, finance, taxation and commercial issues, able to cope with complexity and uncertainty.
Comprehensive understanding of CP in a major project context.
An experienced professional, familiar with contracting roles on major projects.
Knowledge of project drivers in define through execute phases.
Creative thinker capable of developing innovative solutions and a motivated self-starter with a track record of delivery.
Demonstrable ability in behavioural imperatives, including external focus, delivery, commercial mindset, speed and simplicity.
Effective communications at all levels of management both internally and externally.
