The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Contracts Engineer to develop and maintain Contracts & Procurement procedures within the company Business Management System. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects relevant to the prequalification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment of tenders and award, execution, management and close out of contracts in the most cost effective manner in accordance with the business approved Procedures.

Your primary responsibilities are but not limited to:

• Ensure market trend investigation and benchmark activity within the industry is efficiently performed to ensure contractors & suppliers are quoting competitively and in line with the industry standard

• Negotiation of Contractors qualifications and exceptions during tender evaluation

• Preparation of documents for presentation to Contracts Committee and various JV approval committees

• Ensure Contractor deliverables to tender/contract documents are delivered in a timely matter

• Ensure Australian Industry Participation objectives are being considered and implemented in all contracting and procurement activities

• Finalise award and participate in management of Contracts

• Ensure Contract Variations and Contract Claims are identified early and managed in accordance with the business procedures

• Administration of legal issues related to damages, claims, disputes, litigations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• To be successful for this role you will need to be qualified in Engineering/Quantity Surveying or alternatively hold a Law or Business Professional qualification.
• You must have a minimum 10 years Contract & Procurement experience preferably working within the oil & gas industry.
• Experience in contract formulation activities, systems and processes coupled with a working knowledge of engineering and or services/consultancy practices is essential

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• This position requires a motivated and highly capable person with the ability to work under. SAP experience within the MM module is highly desired but not essential.
