The Role:
Our leading client is currently seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer to work for my leading client based in Iraq working on a 28/28 rotation.

• Ensure fit-for-purpose and robust C&P strategies and tactics for the category;
• Ensure optimal utilization of global agreements available in the category whilst ensuring Iraqi Contractors are engaged to the extent possible.
• Deliver high-quality Tender Board submissions for C&P strategies, award and contract changes where necessary;
• Prepare EOIs, Prequalification questionnaires, ITTs and all associated tender correspondence;
• Develop commercial evaluation models and review technical evaluation to model to ensure commercial integrity of tenders are protected and that the complete tender process is sound;
• Apply company policy and procedure related to Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC). Initiate due diligence measures as necessary to verify contractor compliance with Company ethical standards and business principles and to resolve ‘red flags’ which become apparent.
• Strict adherence to, and transparent compliance with, CPPM and MOA controls to maximise project cost recovery of third party expenditure.
• Carry out commercial evaluations of tenders;
• Ensure commercial contract aspects fully understood by the full Operations team (cross-discipline);
• Support structured contract management plans which stipulate all required procedures, reporting and KPIs;
• Manage variations, understanding the scope, reasoning and providing challenge and expedient resolution of issues;
• Ensure contracts are correctly set-up in Contract registers and ERP systems for contract management and payment;
• Monitor, assist and support the RTP process for the category to ensure compliance with contracts and full Cost Recovery from client.
• Follow C&P procedures in tenders and contract management;
• Coordinate with HR and Finance focal points to ensure alignment of interfacing processes.

Support the Contract Holder in contract management, with special focus on contract interpretation, process improvements, variation control, RtP and claims protection.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualified degree or equivalent in engineering, commercial, legal, QS or contracts-related subject.
Min of 15 years Contracting experience of which minimum 10 years as a Contract Engineer responsible for end to end Contract work for multiple contracts within a range of categories (logistic, Operations/Engineering/maintenance, camps, catering, etc)
Experience working in a multi-cultural team.
Excellent communication skills in English (written & oral).
Good knowledge of MS Applications and preferably ERP system user experience.
Arabic language skills an advantage.
