The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
Our client is looking for a Senior Contracts Engineer to provide contracts engineering support to the drilling and completions team. Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Conduct pre-qualification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment of tenders and award of contracts in the most cost effective manner in accordance with the company’s approved procedures
• Ensure market trend investigation and benchmark activity within the industry is efficiently performed to ensure contractors and suppliers are quoting competitively and in line with the industry standard
• Coordinate on contractual, commercial, taxation, insurance, HSES and legal issues with relevant internal stakeholders
• Negotiation of contractors qualifications and exceptions during tender evaluation
• Ensure contractor deliverables to tender/contract documents are delivered in a timely matter
• Ensure Australian Industry Participation objectives are being considered and implemented in all contracting and procurement activities
• Finalise award and participate in management of contracts. Ensure contract variations and claims are identified early and managed in accordance with our client’s procedures
• Maintain time and payment schedules and milestones as per pricing mechanism
• Ensure commercial and contractual correspondence with contractor is efficiently handled
• Participate in contract audits, reviewing records for accuracy and conformance to standards
• Resolve all issues independently and pro-actively with minimal support
• Develop and maintain professional networks to assist the organizations strategic objectives

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally you will have the ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following commercial, technical and interpersonal aspects:

• Engineering / Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years contracts and procurement experience, preferably in Oil and Gas industry and preferably in Offshore Drilling
• Experience in contract formulation activities, systems and processes coupled with a working knowledge of engineering and or services / consultancy practices
• Understanding of local content requirements in the contracting process
