The Company:
A major EPCM client with projects located in the mining industry of Western Australia.

The Role:
The Senior Contracts Officer is responsible for ensuring that assigned contractual matters are properly & effectively negotiated, documented & implemented according to company standards.

Specific Responsibilities

 Provide Contracts Administration and Contract Management support to assigned areas of the project;

 Prepare tender and contract documentation;

 Administer tender and quotation responses;

 Assess and make recommendations for award of contracts;

 Oversee the execution of contracts;

 Administer and manage assigned contracts in accordance with principles, practices and procedures and appropriate Australian Standards and contract law;

 Provide advice to subordinates and project teams concerning contractual matters including claims for variation, progress claims, extensions and disputes;

 Analyse and manage commercial risk to the project;

 Assist with communication between the project and its providers in order to deliver products and services according to the project plan; and

 Manage internal & external contractual stakeholder relationships and influence others to achieve outcomes.

 Provide technical support and advice to the contracts and project teams in negotiating, establishing and administrating contracts;

 Participate in the continuous improvement of contract management processes, policies, procedures and systems;

 Regularly liaise/communicate and consult with key stakeholders and report on performance of contracts to management and client; and

 Maintain records of contractor performance.



Required Competencies / Skills

 Ability to form & foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally

 Understanding of and ability to follow Company & Client policies and procedures.

 Ability to administer and manage contracts in accordance with Company principles, practices and procedures and appropriate Australian Standards and contract law

 Understanding Company aligned contract management processes and ability to improve those contract management processes, policies, procedures and systems continuously

 Ability to communicate and consult with key stakeholders and report on performance of contracts to project teams and the Company

 Ability to analyse Contractors' Quantity Claims for Schedule of Rates contracts

 Ability to execute the close-out of contracts

 Understanding insurance claims procedures

 Ability to perform detailed measurement of Contractors' tenders for Lump Sum contracts

 Ability to perform detailed analysis of Contract variations

 Understanding HSE regulations and standards

 Ability to impart skills to Trainee Contracts personnel

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce or engineering & previous experience on EPCM Projects

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Proven experience in the management of Contracts and Contractors.
