The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of all equipment and facility controls/software for all manufacturing areas.

This individual will be responsible for achieving high equipment reliability, minimum repair time, continuous improvement and new project development through the combined efforts of maintenance, facilities and external suppliers

First response for maintenance support on all breakdowns where controls support is required.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Continuously improve all areas of operations including cycle time, efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
Plan, coordinate and recommend maintenance and operational improvements within all areas of manufacturing.
Monitor, control and maintain process parameters (where applicable), implement / initiate adjustments and corrections to ensure continues production and quality levels within all areas of manufacturing
Carry out software design modifications and commissioning of new or improved software systems as requested.
Ensure that the department can support manufacturing operations at all times in terms of equipment and facility controls, application software, data recording and back up processes
Support the departmental Group Leader / Manager in the daily planning / coaching and mentoring of departmental / maintenance personnel
Support maintenance on all breakdowns which require software, process or controls support.
Ensure controls and associated software are operating correctly to keep the company and their employees protected in accordance with current legislation
Facilitate in house training and multi-skilling of personnel as required
Jointly, with departmental members and Manufacturing Engineering, develop, implement and continuously improve controls specifications and update as required
Maintain an effective level of communication at all times across the business.
Ensure the department strives towards world-class performance in areas of housekeeping, waste management, and compliance to safety and environmental legislation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Time served tradesman with extensive experience in controls related manufacturing facility.
Degree / HNC / HND in related discipline preferred.
Proven knowledge in a manufacturing organisation.
Able to work as an effective team member and confidently as an individual
Experience of manufacturing tools and techniques and willingness to undertake further training
Experience in Siemens S7 PLC Controls including WinCC (Flexible Advanced), WinCC SCADA, Automation and Drives Technology, Starter & TIA Portal preferred
Experience in working with server based systems
Experience in VBS and SQL preferred
Experience in Automotive manufacturing preferred but not essential
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence others. Enthusiastic, determined and highly self-motivated.
Ability to interrupt electrical schematic drawings for fault finding and diagnostics.
