Position Description:
Saudi Aramco is seeking a Senior Corrosion Engineering Consultant to work within the Consulting Services Department (CSD). The CSD provides Saudi Aramco with effective specialized engineering consultations and introduces viable technologies and maintains quality standards. The Corrosion Unit of CSD provides technical consultations and maintains standards on issues related to corrosion prediction, mitigation and monitoring; hydrotesting; water treatment; chemical cleaning; mothballing and equipment preservation; boiler condition assessment (BCA); and emulsion prevention.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as the company’s foremost consultant in the field of corrosion technology and as a Senior Consultant in the company dealing with Saudi Aramco’s senior management, U.S. companies, universities and government agencies on matters relating to his area of expertise.
- Provide capital and operations program leadership by conceiving, designing and carrying out major corrosion technology studies to resolve complex technical problems, increase revenue, optimize processes, protect the environment, or improve safety.
- Develop and maintain Saudi Aramco’s engineering standards and design best practices to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity.
- Evaluate and introduce best practice and emerging technologies from all over the world to help the company achieve best in class positions in the oil business.
- Evaluate major long-term trends in the area of corrosion technology and serve as a major conduit of technology transfer within corrosion.
- Develop potentially patentable new equipment and processes.
- Contribute to taskforce investigations to investigate major incidents or solve specific problems.
- Develop ideas for major technical studies or projects to be carried out by less senior specialists.
- Provide engineering leadership and counsel other team members.
- Act as a professional mentor to less senior specialists and transfer implicit knowledge to specialists and other engineers.
- Carry out economic studies and cost analyses of particular importance in field.
- Conduct field inspections and make recommendations for changes in facilities or operations.
- Promote a learning environment and implement self-development to maintain and improve expert status in highly specialized technical and general engineering fields.
- Active in developing/educating young Saudi Arab engineers and promoting engineering.
- Deliver technical presentations and write papers for peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects he has overseen.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Engineering or other advanced professional engineering degree from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential.
- A minimum of 20 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years as a specialist with full responsibility for major technical work in the field of corrosion technology and engineering.
- Recognized both within and outside of the company as a leading expert in the field corrosion technology.
- Demonstrate specific expertise in corrosion, materials selection, coatings, corrosion inhibitors, and corrosion monitoring and corrosion management.
- Experience in one or more technology areas related to unconventional gas or energy production.
- Demonstrate leadership in new technology development through patents, leadership research programs and active participation in joint industry projects.
