The Role:

- To provide project management with accurate and timely project cost reports, verifying cost performance against plan, and identifying areas of potential budget overrun requiring corrective action
- To assure cost estimating, project budgeting and cost control during the various project phases, including verifications of contractor cost estimates and cost reports.
- To support Cost and budget coordinator in cost control activities.

Main Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Key Activities:

- Timely and accurate execution of cost controls
- Quality of estimates and cost analysis
- Adherence of applied estimating/controlling methodologies to corporate standards
- Main Responsibilities for this position include:
- Cost Breakdown Structure updating according to existing cost estimates
- Verifying work progress status updating cost documentation and allocating costs to the right cost elements
- Updating of procurement and contract plans
- Performing earned value analysis
- Assuring/developing and maintaining all cost reports feeding in cost reporting systems (supported by software tools)

- EXTERNAL: Contractors cost engineers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience:

- Secondary Level Technical/Economical Education (degree preferred)
- At least 4-5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry in both onshore and/or offshore facilities
- At least 4 years of experience in cost estimating and control

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Required Competencies:

- Languages: Fluent in spoken and written English. Intermediate/good knowledge of Portuguese Country language is preferred.
- E&P Management: Standard Workflow - Best Practices
- Economics General: Economics , Economics Planning and Control, Cost estimating/budgeting/cost analysis/control
- Contracting: Def. of Contract Strategy, Variations and Claim Resolution
- Organisation Processes: Project Management process
- Project Management: Prep. of Devel. Program & Budget, Close-Out Report Preparation, Cost control - Budgeting
