Senior Cost Engineer

The Role:
• Establish and maintain relations with the Platform Delivery Team and relevant Stakeholders
• Work to all relevant procedures and processes.
• For relevant area of responsibility, maintain the cost model to monitor and control all Budgets, Commitments, Actuals, VOWD and Forecasts against Approved Budgets, in line with the Project WBS.
• Communicate cost information to the Delivery Team and Stakeholders as required, particularly with regards to early identification of potential cost over-runs
• Check and approve Purchase Requisitions
• Check vendor invoices for contract compliance, expedite approvals and service receipt in SAP.
• Maintain regular contact with Site QS and Planning to discuss and review progress against the budget and schedule and ensure alignment
• Maintain regular contact with Supply Chain to ensure exchange of information and provide support as required to the tender process, requisitions process, variation process and in the event of supplier disputes/claims
• Participate in the Risk Analysis process
• Support the Project MoC process and ensure any cost impacts are validated and are reflected in the Forecast Final Cost
• Prepare inputs to the consolidated Monthly Cost Report
• Support the close-out process
• Ad-hoc cost / commercial support, as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to HNC / Degree / Chartered level in an appropriate discipline
Quantity Surveying qualification preferable
10 years experience in Cost / Commercial roles on UKCS Major Capex Projects
Fabrication Yard experience essential
SAP experience essential
Experience of SAP LIV Service Entry preferable
Estimating experience would be an advantage
Ability to work proactively under own initiative with minimum supervision
Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
Willingness to learn, share knowledge and learning with others
Ability to meet deadlines and a track record of delivering results
Team player with good communications and strong working relationship with all departments
Treat all colleagues with respect
Flexible and adaptable to change
Confidence to challenge in a managed manner where appropriate

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
This role requires an energetic person with natural communication skills.
The incumbent will have strong core cost and commercial skills; understand cost processes, management of change and risk management.
The ability to constructively challenge and guide the various teams with regard to budgets and costs is key to this role
Occasional travel may be required to the London or Aberdeen offices.
