The Company:
Our client is one of Australia's largest exploration and production companies and a key energy provider in both the domestic and international marketplace. They have significant interests in offshore exploration, coal seam gas and renewable energy with a major commitment to safety, quality, and environmental issues.

The Role:
As the Senior Cost Control Engineer you will report to the Cost Control Manager within EPC sub project for this Upstream LNG Project. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining project cost control procedure; ensuring that all the required cost reporting, cost-planning integration, and contractors cost reporting and change management requirements occur.

You will interface with other Upstream project areas e.g., water treatment plant, gas facilities etc., in relation to budget, reporting and forecasting; additionally be responsible for contractor cost systems and progress measurement auditing programs, including development and auditing of these systems required for delivery of the Project.

Additionally you will:
• Develop, plan and conduct audits and reviews of contractor cost systems; develop cash flow forecasts and checks quality of work by others.
• Define a progress measurement auditing program; lead audits on contractor's progress measurement system.
• Review and develop estimates for scope and trend changes; promote value and importance of trending/MOC and timeliness in raising and dealing with trends.
• Review contracts and assist in formulating cost control requirements; analyse Contractor claims and assesses cost entitlement; develop and implement capture of cost data to support claim negotiations.
• Provide guidance and checks drawdown profiles and risk exposure; correlate decisions and actions to project cost outcomes.
• Utilise technical knowledge to guide complex planning tasks and projects within the Cost Controls team and identify ways to improve schedule interface between organizations.
• Validate quality of reporting output; participate in project reviews and explain forecasting issues and cost exposures.
• Complete risk analysis on large projects and confirm the validity of risk assessments performed by others.
• Provide input into Quality Assurance processes and ensure requirements are met; complete quality documentation accurately.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally you will possess a minimum of 8-10 years experience in a similar role within large scale O&G or Petrochemical projects within Australia and internationally. Demonstrating an understanding of WBS requirements throughout lifecycle of a project, including historical database coding / structure, benchmarking and financial structure.

You will possess sound understanding of estimating techniques and be an expert in application of planning software. Encompassing the ability to work unsupervised, accept responsibilities and act on directives.
