The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Cost Engineer to be based on an initial 12 month contract in Darwin. This is likely to continue on after this initial 12 months.

The role will be responsible for monitoring and challenging the EPC Contractor’s proposed final costs forecast by liaising with the Quantity Surveyor, Contract Engineer, and Construction team at the Darwin Construction site as well as supporting the implementation of the Onshore Darwin Construction Site cost control activity.

Key roles responsibilities includes:
Cost Control
• Preparing and updating monthly cost trend and forecast for responsible packages
• Preparation of data for monthly Site and Project cost reports
• Analysis of re-measured quantities of the Site unit-rate subcontracts and module fabrication subcontracts liaising with quantity surveyors
• Monitoring and assessment of commitments, variations and value of work done of responsible packages
• Verification of invoice and cash call from Contractor of responsible packages
• Provision of cost support to lead Cost Controller for the maintenance of the Site cost control activities

Cost Reduction Initiatives
• Effectively engage in business cost reduction initiatives

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Engineering or Science or equivalent University Degree
• Experience in cost control of large projects (more than 1 billion USD) during execution phase
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in EPC Oil and Gas Projects
• Cost control experience in the Oil & Gas sector with emphasis on Onshore/LNG experience
• Cost control experience during project execution phases from installation/construction to pre-commissioning/commissioning
• Cost control experience in remeasurable (unit-rate) contract
• Cost engineering experience, especially in forecasting uncommitted, allowance, and risk of large projects during project execution phases
• Exposure to cost control activities with a skill of MS Excel
• Experience in Cost Control system (i.e. Unifier), and Contract/Subcontract Management System (i.e. K-CMS)
• Having overview of cost control exercise throughout the life of project and detail knowledge to project execution phases especially from installation/construction to pre-commiss
