The Company:
Our Client has operations in the world's most important oil and gas regions and are leaders in working in extremely difficult environments. They have interests in many offshore producing fields in the UK, including five operated fields and five partner-operated fields. The company also has interests in Denmark, the Faroe Islands, the Netherlands and Norway. The client is the largest private producer of oil in Kazakhstan and the top O&G producer in Thailand.

The Role:
Cost estimates evolve throughout the project life cycle to an increasing level of detail and accuracy as project scope, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS), schedules, engineering, and construction work packages become more defined. The incumbent is responsible for the coordination of Cost Estimating activities for a Project co-located within a Strategic Engineering contractor firm. This post is part of a multi-skilled team and the post holder will report to the Project Controls Team Leader.
Main Duties
1. Coordinate all project estimate preparation activities, including working closely with internal engineering and external FEED contractor’s estimating team.
2. Ensure consistency of format and completeness, understand and validates the estimates in terms of Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS), etc. across the multiple estimates to ensure that the estimates can be rolled up into Owner’s summary estimate for Assurance Reviews prior to funding gates.
3. Performs the roll-up and consolidation of the FEED contractor’s estimates along with the owner’s costs into the total project summary in accordance to project schedules.
4. Ensure full compliance of owner’s estimating procedures.
5. Responsible for providing all reporting data and information as required by Project Management Team.
6. Interface with project Management Team, FEED contractors, Subcontractors, Suppliers and others as necessary.
7. Maintenance of cost records and files via internal and external project Document Control processes.
8. Interface with the Planning function as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering Degree qualification; Cost Engineering Qualification or Associate member of ACostE (Association of Cost Engineers)
Experienced in preparing and organizing estimates from conceptual through to detailed engineering and design phases. Must be proficient with recognized estimating techniques and be proficient in using industry standard computer software.
