The Role:
It is the general responsibility of the Cost Estimating personnel to assist with; development of the Capital Cost Estimates, developing an Estimating Database, developing a Benchmarking Database, assisting with developing Control Estimates, Assisting with comparing tenders to budgets, contributing to the Management of Chance program and preparing reports for the Project Management Team.

In performing his/her duties, Cost Estimator will liaise closely with the various project teams and senior management.

The Estimating Lead shall ensure that all estimating activities are executed in accordance with Maersk Oil’s corporate requirements.

• Follow Cost Estimating procedures to create accurate conceptual estimates, unit based estimate and benchmarking comparisons
• Responsible to supply cost estimating services to the Delivery Managers and facilitate schedule review meetings
• Participation in the Management of Change process
• Identifying and/or processing of project trends and change through the Management of Change process and communicating impacts effectively
• Assist in providing project controls requirements into service and construction contracts
• Liaise with Contractors’ management representatives during contract negotiations
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of the project WBS and PCS
• Assist in developing an Estimating Database with data to support conceptual and unit based estimating
• Assist in preparing project cost benchmarks from past and present projects
• Assist in developing a cost estimating benchmarking program
• Assist in the training and development of Project Controls personnel

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Business, Financial, Engineering or Technical degree or equivalent years of specific relevant experience
• Minimum of 10 years cost estimating experience in oil industry
• Cost estimating experience on oil and gas projects of $1 Billion or larger
• Management of Change (MOC) experience is a preference
• High levels of persistence, curiosity and enthusiasm
• The candidate should be a self-starter, possess strong analytical skills, and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English
