The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
Facilitate effective data driven decision making at all levels within the business by maximising the quality, structure and governance of data; maximising operation efficiencies and exploiting data to its full potential.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
•Develop a corporate data strategy and governance approach that:
o Supports the Business in exploiting data to its full potential and maximise operation efficiencies.
o Enables integrated BI reporting through the authentication / certification of KPI source data and business rule lineage.
• Produce a data governance roadmap to manage data as a corporate asset:
o Enable the audit and accountability of all corporate data.
o Develop and maintain a Data Dictionary to identify Master and Secondary Data as a key ERP deliverable.
o Facilitate cross-functional work groups to ensure acceptance of corporate-wide business and technical definitions.
•Provide guidance, consultation and support to the business by:
o Monitoring user access permissions.
o Establishing user forums to mentor and drive acceptance.
o Building and maintaining strong working relationships with both internal and external parties to promote and implement best practice.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
•Engineering/IT related Degree, or equivalent technical qualification and experience.
•Demonstrable track record of data centric problem resolution.
• 6 Sigma qualification would be desirable.
•Cross-functional team leadership with the ability to demonstrate:
o Significant understanding of data-related issue causes within the business.
o Understanding of the impact of data quality on business efficiency and decision making processes.
o Experience in a technical role delivering data centric business processes improvements.
o The ability to influence the business outside of direct line management.
•Experience of initial impact analysis through to resolution of data-related issues affecting business performance.
•Awareness of business requirements documentation, systems functionality definitions and user interface design.
•Knowledge of data governance terms, methodologies, and business practices.
•Experience with Data Quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
•To be an Active member of a recognised Data Management Association.
•Post holder must have a technical and data quality focussed background with a structured analytical mind and attention to detail.
•The ability to implement data quality and governance programs to enable re-use of data across the organisation.
•The ability to understand complex requirements and communicate them effectively at all levels within the organisation.
•Capable of building close working relationships with internal and external parties.
•Good interpersonal skills, at all levels within and outside the organisation.
•Good communication skills and a team player.
•Results driven, with a good understanding of business priorities, and project planning.
