The Role:
Working as part of a buildings structural design team within the Civil Structures business unit reporting directly to an Associate Director, assisting in the delivery of exciting building structure schemes for a variety of Private and Public Clients.

Receiving design information from the design team and preparing drawings (Revit and AutoCAD) and other technical documentation relating to the delivery of innovative structural schemes to significant engineered structures.

Liaising with team members and other offices / disciplines to deliver innovative designs within time and cost constraints. Liaising with affected stakeholders and gain buy-in to solutions through consultation

The Office is a project delivery office with major public sector clients and private sector workload.
The workload is diverse within the Structural Engineering field, with the team specialising in structures for all building types. Schemes vary from assessment and inspection to the design of refurbishment, extension and major new structures including contract preparation and administration.

1. Produce REVIT / CAD structural drawings, General Arrangement, Reinforced concrete, Misc. details and Structural Steelwork General Arrangements along with relevant details.
2. Work on shared REVIT models within an office and across different offices.
3. Liaise with the main contractor, the client and other design team members during the design process.
4. Issue structural drawings to internet based document control systems compliant with project protocols and with CAD standards and protocols.
5. Co-ordination of structural drawings with other design team members; Architects, Building Services and External Works consultants etc.
6. Ensure compliance to the appropriate project specifications, design and health and safety standards as required.
7. Compliance with client’s project delivery processes.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
■ Educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent desirable though not a prerequisite, with relevant post qualification experience. Those working towards I Eng or Eng Tech, or other similar recognised professional status will be considered.
■ Relevant post education experience would be preferred, in addition to experience gained during day release training undertaken to obtain qualifications.
■ Awareness of the implications of works on the environment and knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
■ Highly experienced in the use of AutoCAD and Revit in the preparation of drawings, including reinforced concrete and structural steelwork detailing to the required office standards.
■ Ability to work closely with engineers from other disciplines and other construction professionals to optimise and develop designs.
■ Good technical writing skills, and good interpersonal skills required.
