The Company:
Our client is a leading global operating Oil & Gas company.
The Role:
The development engineer is responsible for providing project expertise during Appraise and Select. The development engineer should utilize the existing project practices; proactively drive the project to concept selection in Select and prepare for transition to the Define/ Execute team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Appraise Stage - Small Projects:
• Ensure alignment with SPU
• Understands the business of doing the right projects not just any project;
• Able to work with a team to define a business case and a problem statement for a project;
• Finalize the draft Term of Reference;
• Able to identify risks associated with the business case
• Provide input to capture lessons learned and enter them into the knowledge management / empirical databases / shared learning system at the conclusion of each stage.
• Develop an Appraisal plan that defines alternatives to be evaluated in Select Stage
• Perform VIPs with a facilitator
• Develop Cost estimate and Schedule for next stage and entire project
• Create draft SOR;
• Complete Appraise Stage Decision Support Package (DSP)
Select Stage – Small Projects:
• Update appraise deliverables as required;
• Define engineering design specifications for project;
• Development Engineer and Discipline Engineer defines the technical options and the value proposition of each;
• Gather data for a Concept Selection Memoranda and obtain signatures.
• Ensure appropriate planning, systems and tools are implemented during engineering
• Review and endorse the integrated master control schedule for next stage and entire project
• Participate in regular risk management reviews to identify and / or modifying additional or existing risks;
• Perform VIPs with a facilitator
• Finalize the SOR;
• Assemble the handover package to fully inform Define Execute (D/E) Team of their accountabilities.
• Provide project scope input the D/E project engineer for the PEP;
• Provide input to capture lessons learned and enter them into the knowledge management / empirical databases / shared learning system at the conclusion of each stage.
• Complete Select Stage Decision Support Package (DSP) with D/E Project Engineer
• Help develop the define stage FM with the D/E Project Engineer;
LANGUAGES: English fluency required.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have the following qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry
• Engineering Degree
• Excellent Written and Oral Communication skills
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the required qualifications, the successful applicant is likely to be able to demonstrate the following:
• PMP certification
• PE certification
