The Role:
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
• Develop solutions for value enhancing projects across the operated assets, typically requiring a multidisciplinary approach
• Mature identified projects to end of concept select phase
• Assist in the capture of strategic third party business
• Participation in the facilities aspects and due diligence of A & D
• Participation in the facilities aspects of business strategy development
• Opportunity framing and maturation
• Planning, project management, cost estimation and cost control
• Ensure integration between all key disciplines involved in the projects
• Carry out technical studies and supervise outsourced technical studies
• Progress and integrate work in a timely manner through a stage gate process
• Supervise and support members of the development team
• Development Team Leader’s delegate when necessary.
Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications:
• Significant upstream industry experience
• Comfortable with uncertainty.
• A good working knowledge of the main disciplines involved in upstream development and lifecycle management, with specialism likely in one or two disciplines and firmly established understanding in most of the following;
• Subsurface
• Drilling / Wells
• Subsea
• Process Engineering / Topsides / Brownfield engineering
• Commercial / Economics
• Excellent project management skills: project planning, cost estimating, cost control
• Excellent communication and team-working skills
• Knowledge of the key interfaces between different disciplines
• Best practice processes such as gated systems, decision tree analysis, strategy tables
• Front end conceptual working is essential
• Proven experience of managing a team
• Experience in a variety of assets with operators; preferably overseas experience.
• Proven front-end engineering and development skills and excellent communication abilities.
