Senior Development Geophysicist

The Role:
•Perform geophysical interpretation on seismic data, inversion data, or pre and post-stack attribute data, as necessary.
•Formulation and execution of agreed technical programmes for each asset.
•Responsible for seismic interpretation and mapping 3D datasets covering producing fields and discoveries as they move towards and through development.
•Generate infill drilling opportunities and evaluation of well results.
•Provide input for enhanced processing of seismic datasets and QI projects with a strong emphasis on rock physics modelling, AVO and Inversion.
•Build and refine earth models from a combination of well, seismic, geological, data types as required.
•Ensure that quality control standards are met for processing, modelling and reporting activities
•Well planning, operation support and post well analysis.
•Prepare relevant parts of well programs in partnership with geologists, drilling and reservoir engineers.
•Assist in preparation of appraisal and development programs
•Evaluation of new business opportunities
•Prepare and present material as required internally and to third parties e.g. DECC/JV partners
•Documentation and presentation of results of technical work.
•Manage your own projects, including time deadlines and resources - you will be responsible for managing multiple (concurrent) projects.
•Work closely with Geologists and Reservoir Engineers in order to provide fully integrated subsurface technical view. Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams.
•Strong participation in technical peer reviews and other technical meetings.
•Supervision of geotechnical contractors and consultants.
•It is likely that the Senior Geophysicst will take a lead role in many of these activities/projects and/or supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other team members
•Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and applies leading technologies and technical best practice to maximise field performance

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Extensive upstream industry experience in Geophysics within an Oil & Gas Operator with a sound working knowledge of industry software packages such as Kingdom or Petrel.
•An established track record within reservoir geophysics and integrated projects
•Reservoir characterization of 3D and 4D datasets
•Geophysical input to static and dynamic models, well planning and operations
•Depth conversion
•Deterministic and stochastic resource estimation
•AVO & Rock physics
•Diverse technical experience, including appraisal and development/production.
•Good communication skills. Ability to actively participate in a multi-discipline team and also provide technical judgments.
•Able to cultivate an open culture, open-minded and willing to listen to suggestions and new ideas.
•Desire to develop in the role and enthusiastic to progress within the Company.
•North Sea experience is important.
•A team player and self starter with a strong sense of urgency to get the job done.
