The Company:
Leading integrated energy company. A major player in exploration and production, power generation & trading they use their strong brands and distinctive assets and capabilities to achieve success in their chosen markets.

This role is working for their Renewable Energy division.

The Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior Document Controller to join their document management team on a long term contract basis
The team are working on Renewable Energy - wind farm projects.
The role will be project based work as well as handling the contract and commercial information.
The successfull candidate will need to supervise junior team members work, although they will not have any direct reports, and will also be requried to deputise for the lead document controller as well as be comfortable in the day to day data entry portion of the role.

Monthly paid contract.

Duties:
Maintain the document library as per agreed structures
Build / maintain relationships with team members / suppliers to promote the use of the document library and provide support where required
Ensure contractors adhere to the document control procedures and requirements
Issue documentation, both internal and external, with a maximum turnaround of 24 hours
Deal swiftly and efficiently with any problems that arise
Provide document control support to the Project team
Attend kick-off meetings and liaise with new contractors to ensure they understand document control requirements from the outset
Deputise for the lead document controller and assist in supporting and supervising junior team members
Ensure all items are closed out and appropriate as built packages are received and accepted by the Operations team
Control of contract and commercial information
Ability to control multiple flows of information
Ability to deal with large quantities of documentation in short timescales
Maintain security of information in line with internal and joint venture requirements
Ensure that audit trails are maintained and all documents can be traced etc
Responsible for copying, quality checking and sending out manuals, programmes and other project related documents
Ability to work independently and suggest improvements where appropriate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Atleast 3-5 years experience within a document control environment.
Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
Excellent MS Office skills required including Access, Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
Excellent active listening, problem solving and root cause identification skills.
Good previous experience in Document Management in multi-disc environment.
Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding and experience of the energy industry from a technical and commercial perspective
Understanding and experience of the offshore engineering and construction industry from a technical and commercial perspective
Previous experience working with onshore / offshore wind projects
Education to degree level or equivalent
