The Company:
Our Client is a Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
To ensure that assigned well projects are properly planned and risk mitigated from new-country entry starting point and engineered to ensure wells deliver maximum value at a safe minimum cost.

• Seek out and analyse offset well data using thorough research and original thought compile review summaries to aid risk managed concept design aimed at best regional performances.
• Perform pre-conceptual and conceptual well designs and progressively more accurate cost estimates as required from budgetary through to LLI AFE and final well AFE levels.
• Mitigate risks to ensure well objectives are not compromised.
• Proactively interface with G&G to ensure G&G objectives are clearly defined, risks and costs are understood by G&G.
• Perform and document well design process in compliance with our client's set Policies and Procedures including a thorough review process and regulatory permits and authorisations are timely managed.
• Prepare drilling and completion designs and programmes for medium to deepwater both exploration and development applications.
• Drive well service providers’ to provide appropriate best practice solutions and transfer of knowledge to the drilling team.
• Introduce new technologies/methods and solutions to improve efficiencies and reduce costs while maintaining a high standard of HSE performance.
• Ensure lessons learnt from within the business' areas of operations and the wider industry are captured and incorporated into our client's North Africa Business Unit well designs and programmes.
• Provide daily operational engineering support to rigsite teams.
• Provide high level engineering to prevent or remedy well control situations.
• Represent our client’s interests at partner meetings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Significant knowledge of subsea industry practices, challenges & risk mitigations with drilling, testing work over, wire line, coil tubing & completion operations in both conventional, horizontal, and higher pressure wells.
• Excellent data management and advance MS Office package software skills including but not limited to excellent word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software ability.
• Competent user of well planning software packages for casing design, directional planning, torque and drag, hydraulics etc.

• Ability to challenge regional well technology and procedures with original engineering solutions.
