The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Drilling/Workover Engineer responsible for leading and integrating drilling engineering activities across multiple work fronts to resolve well tieback concerns. Successful re-delivery on time and within budget of offshore wells after rig workover remediation. The role requires comprehensive engineering design, program preparation, equipment readiness and operations support skills. Since wells are currently producing return to production status will require contingency planning and seeking areas for performance improvement/optimisation. Specifications and planning will be in alignment with company’s wells practices and policies.
Engineering & Operations delivery
Provide detailed well design and engineering to optimise well life and deliver maximum long term value. In particular, detailed subsea well tieback program generation including contingency plans.
Investigate best practices/learning and incorporate them into design and operational procedures. Optimize well design in line with cost, functionality and safety metrics. Evaluate and propose alternative subsea well tieback technologies.
Develop the execution plan for use in technical limit activities.
Manage and coordinate service providers input into well planning and operations activity. Identify and order key long lead items required for well operations.
HSE / Integrity Management
Ensure company code of conduct awareness and implementation.
Identify risk and develop appropriate risk mitigation plan.
Ensure company’s standards & policies are incorporated into well designs and operations.
Standards, Processes & Technology
Delivery of planning and engineering studies according to company’s guidelines within the agreed planning schedule.
Coordinate Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) work performed by service companies.
Manage risk Perform and document comprehensive risk assessment/ register / mitigation for operation. Includes working all aspects needed for RA actions close out
Capture all pertinent performance data for reporting. QA/QC reports.
Review and implement fit for purpose technology into well design in line with cost management & control.
People & Internal relationships
Assist in the development of the new national drilling staff. Responsible for technical knowledge transfer to less experienced engineers.
Maintain open interface with others to share knowledge and best practices.
Maintain interface with other discipline teams to coordinate, clarify and resolve issues and concerns as part of the plan.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors or equivalent degree in engineering.
Confirmable previous work experience in drilling and workover engineering roles either in an International Oil Company, National Oil Company or Service Company.
10 years of drilling, subsea or workover engineering experience.
Confirmable experience to write and create engineering studies in support of future well activities
Recent experience in direct engineering support to an offshore team in drilling, workover, tieback and subsea wellhead planning.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Masters degree in engineering ( Mechanical, Project or similar)
Familiar with Company (or other industry) policy, procedures, standards and practices
Implementation of knowledge management plan ensuring capturing of lessons learned from execute stage and integration into future rig procedures.
Able to meet deadlines and prioritise workload.
Proven track record as strong team player.
Flexible approach to work and time management skills
Skilful and demonstrable knowledge in the areas of:
Probabilistic/risk weighted cost estimating
Cost management,
Casing design including casing wear modelling/prediction
Cement design
Well positioning
Pore pressure
Wellbore stability
Geologic principles
Well design implications
Completion and workover design, planning and execution
Valid well control (subsea and surface) supervisory level certified (i.e IWCF, Wellcap or equivalent)
