The Company:
Our client is a major operator within the Oil and Gas Industry

The Role:
• Responsible for the Well planning & drilling engineering, as per BtB planning (Appraise to Select stages)
• Co-ordination & preparation of the SoR and WPDP
• Manage well planning and BoD’s for concept freeze inc casing, high level fluids, cementing, well placement BoD’s and data acquisition plan.
• Co-ordination and preparation of the Appraise and Select Peer Review and Decision Support Packages (DSP).
• Investigate offset data, lessons learnt & drive continuous improvement into the well planning and engineering.
• Development of the well based risk register, mitigations, actions and contingency planning
• Detail Long Lead equipment and planning/ordering requirements
• Well planning & drilling engineering in accordance with DWOP 10-60, BtB process & ETP’s
• Well cost engineering - compile the Initial DCUS & FM and support budget, LTP, GFO and ATN submissions
• Liaise with the Prospect and Planning Ops Geologists for prospect generation & well planning (inc PPFG, NDS, shallow hazards, target and td selection) during Appraise & Select
• Supply engineering details required for Pet Regs & Permits (ITD, ESIA) to support HSSE & Eng, Exploration functions
• Support and use D&C Engineering Forums & Networks
• SPU Technology Plan- assessment & recommendations
• Develop drilling engineering staff

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Educated to at least first degree level in an engineering, preferably petroleum or mechanical.
2. Experience developing drilling procedures and programs for side track would be beneficial
3. Experience designing wells with MWD,LWD, PDM,RSS.
4. Experience in drilling Software like Landmark i.e Stresscheck, Compass, Wellplan etc.
5. Exposure to development fields.
6. Detailed knowledge of Drilling and completion design, engineering and planning is essential.
7. Experience with drilling operations.
8. Exposure to contract management beneficial
9. Experience working the in the remote areas / desert locations in a multicultural environment is preferred.
10. Team player and good communication skills.
11. Experience and training with a major oil company of minimum of 8 years.
12. Land drilling experience & desert experience would be beneficial.
