The Company:
Our client is a major global operator in the oil and gas industry.

The Role:
To diligently plan, engineer, organise, support and report on drilling operations in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, achieving technical objectives by applying accepted engineering practices. To deputise for the DCW Manager and act as a member of the Emergency Response Team as required.

Key responsibilities cover the following areas:

• Services and Material/ Equipment Procurement.
• Organisation of drilling engineering activities.
• Offshore drilling operations follow-up.
• Responsible for drilling technical input to the Safety Management System.
• Responsible for directional drilling plans, follow up and final well surveying.
• Wells integrity

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Provide advice in reviewing the scopes of work and technical specifications.
• Providing advice and technical specification during pre-qualification and tender evaluation phases in order to ensure that the choice of contractors and suppliers fully meet with technical targets and company standards.
• Supply well cost estimates for future operations budget, with probabilistic and deterministic approach, and current operations Authorisation for Expenditure (AFE), ensuring the reliability of the data provided. Prepare risk assessment of the operations together with HSE Department.
• Contribute to the planning of exploration and development projects providing technical inputs to the project teams, in order to optimise cost and drilling performance of the project.
• Appraise new drilling technology products to determine their applications in UK drilling operations, in order to improve time cost performance and safety conditions.
• Prepare all relevant documents for drilling requested by regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and review the drilling programs and final reports and ensure technical analysis about the operations as per SMS and corporate requirements. Ensure that an auditable trail exists.
• Provide engineering advice in the operations follow up.
• Assist DCW Manager in contacts with partners and regulatory bodies providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Review of UK non operated activities with the same level of attention as for operated activities.
• Review and update all Drilling Procedures, Manuals in order to ensure compliance with company policies and current legislation.
• Update technical improvements and suggest appropriate materials/equipment (e.g. drilling bits, downhole tools, motors, etc).
• Weekend Duty Rota: Act as duty engineer on assigned weekend as defined in the Emergency Procedures Manual.
• Ensure full adherence to the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and standards.
• To fully comply with the client's Code of Ethics, Law 231 principles and Fighting Corruption Initiative.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering/Science based qualifications with numerate skills.
• Significant Drilling Engineering training and experience.
• Specific knowledge of drilling related topics.
• General knowledge of associated disciplines i.e. Geology, Petroleum Engineering and Reservoir.
• Operational wellsite experience.
