The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds leading major operators with operations globally. This role is for an expat on rotation into an Algerian land operation.

The Role:
The Senior Drilling Engineer will provide well engineering input and support to the well operations team so that works are performed in a correct, safe and cost efficient way, in accordance with local laws and regulations, with adherence to Company requirements and established industry best practices.

Perform technical engineering work for any and all exploration, production and development wells in order to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Provide guidance and support to all members of the Well Engineering team.
• Undertake all planning activities with respect to well design including hydraulics, cementation, wellheads, casing seat selection and casing design.
• Prepare well cost estimates (Concept Selection & AFE)
• Liaise directly with the well service providers with respect to well planning and operational activities.
• Contribute to HS & E in accordance with EPAL mandatory documents, objectives and strategies.
• Perform drilling engineering services in the well project, in order to accomplish the established objectives and plans.
• Prepare the Drilling Programs, actively support the operation, analyse the performed work and contribute to the experience transfer in the well project.
• Make sure that risk evaluation/analysis is correctly used in relation to conceptual design decisions.
• Maintain familiarity in new equipment and operating procedures. Implement new techniques and technologies as necessary to improve cost and time efficiency in well delivery process.
• Contribute to establishing and maintaining Local Best Practices/Drilling Manual.
• Collate the End of Well report and review service contractor reports in a timely manner
• Support the ongoing implementation of the Continuous Improvement Process
• Undertake wellsite visits
• Maintain good communications with the other technical groups within EPAL (geologists and petroleum engineers), during all operations.
• Develop work scopes for services and review technical aspects of tenders.
• Daily drilling technical supervision/support of ongoing operations.
• Initiate and contribute to improvements of the WDOM or other relevant mandatory and reference documentation.
• Identify and handle dispensations, equipment failure reports and non-conformances as required.
• Manage changes (both minor and major) to the primary well documentation.
• Editing and dissemination of daily reports
• Assist with daily cost tracking and forecasting
• Undertake business visits to London office as necessary to support ongoing activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• IWCF Supervisors Level
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience from drilling and well related work

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree / HNC / HND desirable
