The Role:
1Prepare Drilling and Completion Program
Work with various parties to identify, determine & prioritise the goals & objectives for the well & drilling operations.
Determine the optimum trajectory, profile & casing scheme to effectively achieve the required objectives.
Determine optimum drilling parameters to safely achieve required profile & well objectives, balancing risk mitigation, efficiency and cost.
Prepare detailed drilling & casing program containing key information required by the parties concerned with well drilling & casing.
Prepare AFE’s to obtain necessary expenditure and work activity approvals.
2Plan and Schedule Drilling Services
Work with Senior Engineer / Superintendent, various internal & external parties, and rig contractor, to plan and schedule drilling activity.
Work with internal parties & suppliers to ensure that all service contracts & material orders are in place to meet the drilling plan.
Work with various internal parties to coordinate all drilling activity in line with other operations activities.
3Prepare C&P Specifications and Implement Requests
Prepare detailed materials, equipment & service requirement lists.
Prepare Scope of Works for services & equipment supply contracts and Specifications for equipment & materials procurement.
Work with SCM to ensure that contracts, work orders and material requests are prepared & implemented in time.
4Ensure Operations & HSE Standards Compliance
Ensure all DWO standards, manuals, processes, procedures, guidelines, working instructions & templates are current version & in use.
Ensure that all drilling & completion activities are risk assessed and that mitigation plans are included in the drilling program.
Monitor appropriate QA measures for materials & equipment are used and QC on scheduled maintenance of equipment, are in effect.
Monitor that all personnel are competent and fully understand the applicable operations & HSE procedures, guidelines and standards.
5Monitor, Analyse and Report on Drilling Performance.
Monitor and analyse daily drilling activity & wellsite data reports. Monitor consistent quality & completeness in recording of information.
Monitor the implementation of all agreed improvement or corrective actions and document & report progress against plan.
Prepare final drilling analysis reports, including well schematics. Ensure that all analysis & reports are complete & fulsome in their detail.
Ensure that all well information is up-to-date, accurate, complete and archived. Maintain the DWO Wells Schematics & Risk Register.
Accurately complete in a timely manner statutory & regulatory reports of drilling & well data. Provide input to any queries.
6Monitor and Analyse Technology Developments
Actively monitor industry forums, magazines & other news sources for new developments in DWO.
Analyse new ideas for relevance & report on potentially relevant new technology, techniques & methodologies.
Discuss suitability & applicability with relevant subject matter experts and propose pilot studies to evaluate effectiveness.
Monitor pilot studies, analyse implementation & impact and prepare detailed reports with appropriate cost-benefit analysis.
Ensure that all relevant information on new technology, techniques & methodologies is appropriately shared with the DWO Community.
7Emergency Response Team Member
Prepare a fulsome reference file for the well, ensuring all data is complete, accurate & logically presented for quick & easy reference.
Provide data & undertake analysis on the well & emergency situations as required by the response team; inc. 'degree of data uncertainty'.
Provide well considered & risked assessed proposals for remedial actions & solutions.
Monitor all implemented remedial activities to assess progress, impact & potential: propose corrective actions as required.
Prepare situation analysis reports as appropriate to the response situation. Prepare a detailed final report on analysis & actions taken.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
MSc or equivalent

HSEQ Profile
Able to explain the application of the HSEQ Management System in the work place & work duties, including abnormal conditions.
Ensures that HSEQ culture drives own performance. Actively promotes HSEQ culture with peers, subordinates and externally.
Promotes & ensures 'good housekeeping' for work location, ensuring all HSEQ systems are in place & fully functioning.
Undertakes detail Hazard-Threat-Risk Assessments for all non-routine work duties, ensuring controls and barriers are in place.
Conducts pre-work 'Toolbox Talks' to ensure that all persons are fully aware of all hazards, threats and risk mitigation measures.
Can clearly demonstrate 'First Responder' activities, enablling the securing of the incident area to a safe condition, in a safe manner.
Can explain the value of correct HSEQ information, actively shares knowledge with others in work related HSEQ matters.
