The Company:

The Role:
Planning Responsibilities
• Responsible for drilling engineering requirements for well planning.
• Ensures that all well engineering activities comply with company standards and governmental regulations and are performed and recorded using the WellAtlas Well Engineering Planning system.
• Ensures EHS requirements are understood by all parties associated with wells delivery and is integral to all aspects of all activities.
• Work with the relevant Subsurface team with respect to provision of subsurface data and Statement of Requirements.
• Work with subsea facilities team /subsurface team, as required, with respect to strategy for accessing of targets from existing / future planned infrastructure.
• Work with Completions Engineer regarding completion requirements.
• Work with project planners regarding scheduling of operations.
• Development of project cost estimates for drilling and completion.
• Responsible for drilling engineering aspects of development planning to ensure optimal development concepts are selected and well engineering planning is performed within the required time frames.
• Work with contracts and procurement engineers in relation to Contracting Strategy requirements and preparation of Tender documents
Operational Responsibilities
1. EHS
• Ensures EHS is at the highest priority in all elements of programme delivery
2. Operational Support
• Ensure well objectives are understood by all departmental personnel, and are delivered
• Provide technical and operational support in drilling operations including the design, execution, and post job analysis as needed.
• Maintains continuous familiarity with daily operations to ensure full understanding of issues, operational problems
• Ensure KPI’s are agreed and understood prior to each well and performance is monitored and reported against
3. Departmental Management
• Provide Well Engineering input to Operational team in the country of interest
• Well Engineering interface with the subsurface team in London and relevant location (eg Africa)
• Well Engineering interface with Field Development team in London.
• Provide Well Engineering interface with JV partners when required.
• Provide technical input to TCM’s, JOC’s and other partner / management meetings.
• Co-ordinate or run Peer Review / Project Reviews.
• Initiate and co-ordinate technical studies.
• Provide technical interface with C&P London for Well Engineering work.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum engineering.
• Fluent in English both written and spoken.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish good working relationships with team.
• High proficiency with IT and industry software including
 MS Suite
 Landmark

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in a Well Engineering role with operating companies.
• A proven track record of career progression
• Experience within the last five years in water depths greater than 800 metres.
• Preferably knowledge and experience of running subsea completions, subsea well testing, and subsea tree / landing string systems.
• Work experience in remote locations and knowledge of work environments in West Africa.
