The Company:
Our client has grown to become a significant regional energy company.

The Role:
This position reports directly to the PNG Drilling Manager.


• Provide a clear and concise work program and the necessary support to the Well Site Supervisor (WSS) in order to carry out the work program in an efficient and safe manner.
• Mentor the Drilling Engineers in the group and provide them with guidance and advice on how to do their assigned tasks.
• Look for ways to reduce the risk of all operations to a level that is as low as reasonably practical (ALARP).
• Make aware of the appropriate laws, regulations, company standards and the Health Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) of BNK and follow all the aforementioned to the best of ability.
• Prepare the work program (Drilling Program or Completions Program) in conjunction with the appropriate vendors.
• Prepare the necessary paper work required to complete the permitting procedures

• Assist with the preparation of the work site location as required by the PNGDM

• Obtain all the necessary signatures for the Work Program

• Identify and recommend long lead items required, assist the Supply Chain Group (SC) with the purchase of these items in sufficient time to be able to meet the company’s long term plans for drilling and completing wells

• Identify and locate equipment and services necessary to be able to carry out the work program

• Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP)

• Work with SC to send the RFP to the appropriate vendors

• Review the Tender submittals and recommend the most appropriate vendor based on the technical and economical evaluation.

• Prepare a detailed well cost estimate for each project

• Liaise with the Service Providers prior to spud such that they are aware of the work program and are prepared to carry out the work

• Organize a pre-spud meeting with all interested parties no more than 7 days prior to start of operations

• Support the Well Site Supervisor in the day to day operations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The SDE should have enough knowledge about how to design a well and support well site operation with only a minimal amount of direct supervision.
This position requires a minimum of 15 years work experience in the industry
