The Role:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to joined a leading Oil & Gas Operator based in London. The successful candidate will work closely with all developments disciplines to deliver well basis of design, liaising closely with the in country well engineering team lead.

This is a staff position.

Key responsibilities:
* Develop well construction and completion design solutions.
* Ensure all well engineering activities comply with company standards and governmental regulations.
* Coordinate the team's delivery of well designs and basis of well designs for new development projects.
* Interface with both the Pre FEED Team and Partner Organisations.
* Coordinate the preparation of budgets and cost estimates.
* Lead and document the risk management process through well design and planning activities.
* Provide engineering support to the design and planning process and in daily drilling matters.
* Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and service companies.

Key skills / attributes:
* Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum engineering.
* Good communication skills.
* Good knowledge of industry best practices associated with drilling, testing, workover and completions operations.
* Minimum 8 years experience in a Well Engineering role with operating companies.
* Good understanding of the engineering criteria associated with well construction and operations planning, design and well control issues, deviated drilling, completion, testing and production.
* Good understanding of geological and petroleum engineering priorities.
* Good understanding of cost optimisation techniques.
* Work experience in remote locations and knowledge of work environments in Africa is a distinct advantage.
* Proven leadership and coaching skills.
