The Company:
Our client, an E&P Major is currently looking for 3-4 Drilling Engineers to support their non-operated global drilling and completions team based in London. The Drilling, Completions & Workover Manager is responsible for this group which currently comprises 4 x Project Drilling & Completion Managers. These will be permanent staff positions based in the London office although candidates who are internationally mobile in the longer-term are of firm interest.

The Role:
Purpose:

To diligently plan, engineer, organise, support and report on client E&P division and all UK well operations in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, achieving technical objectives by applying accepted engineering standard and practices. This is valid for operated and non operated well operations. To participate in the Emergency Response Duty Engineer Rota as required.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Provide advice in reviewing the scopes of work and technical specifications.
• Providing advice and technical specification during pre-qualification and tender evaluation phases in order to ensure that the choice of contractors and suppliers fully meet with technical targets and company standards.
• Supply well cost estimates for future operations budget, with probabilistic and deterministic approach, and current operations Authorisation for Expenditure (AFE), ensuring the reliability of the data provided. Prepare risk assessment of the operations together with HSE Department.
• Prepare and review the drilling programs and final reports and ensure technical analysis about the operations as per SMS and corporate requirements. Ensure that an auditable trail exists.
• Prepare all relevant documents for drilling requested by regulatory bodies.
• Assist DCW Manager in contacts with partners and regulatory bodies providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Review and update all Drilling Procedures, Manuals in order to ensure compliance with company policies and current legislation.

Global well Operations
• Contribute to the planning of exploration and development budgets.
• Provide technical inputs to the project teams, in order to optimise cost and drilling performance of the project. Including OPDS and OPS.
• Appraise new drilling technology products used by other operators where company is partner, to determine their applications in any well operations where company is, in order to improve safety conditions and time cost performance.
• Provide engineering advice in the operations operated by other parties.
• Review of company E & P division non operated activities with the same level of attention as for operated activities.
• Reporting and evaluation of the data coming from the drilling and completion reports, with the aim to improve the performance of the operations.
• Update technical improvements and suggest appropriate materials/equipment (e.g. drilling bits, down hole tools, motors, etc) to other operators.
• Weekend Duty Rota: Act as duty engineer on assigned weekend as defined in the Emergency Procedures Manual.
• Ensure full adherence to the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and standards.
• To fully comply with company Code of Ethics, Law 231 principles and Fighting Corruption Initiative.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering/Science based qualifications with numerate skills.
• Significant Drilling Engineering training and experience.
• Specific knowledge of drilling related topics.
• General knowledge of associated disciplines i.e. Geology, Petroleum Engineering and Reservoir.
• Operational well site experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering/Science based qualifications with numerate skills.
