The Role:
Accountability
Responsible for the timely execution of E+I designs to strict timetables

Basic Functions
Verification of existing E+I designs and modifications to them, control of designers working for him and ensuring they are usefully employed.

Principal Responsibilities
Control and give direction to CAD designers ensure that QA procedures are adhered to. Discuss problems with the client and determine possible solutions for implementation.

Attend project meetings and HAZOPS

Control of time expended on a project ensuring that project expenditure is not exceeded

• Proven ability in the design and implementation of E+I projects
• A knowledge of electrical systems would be an advantage but the principal knowledge base shall be Instruments.
• Understanding of offshore codes of practice, regulations and standards
• Aware of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Competent with Hazardous area equipment & working with Atex and PED.

• Oral communication, Personal organisation. Written communication.
• Must be flexible and pro-active in approach to work within a small team.

• Ability to explain clearly any work handed over and to listen to others suggestion
• Able to work with designers and to encourage them to self motivating.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 10 years experience in engineering Oil and Gas experience highly desirable, but petrochemicals acceptable
• Preference is for Time served, Oil and Gas/Petrochem, HNC/HND Minimum plus relevant experience. Degree preferred
• Drawing packages, Autocad, Rastercad, Microstation, IrasB, Microsoft office packages.
• Electrical system design packages, Hevacomp, Amtech.
• Must be willing to do Offshore survival cert and be prepared to do offshore surveys (could involve trips of up to a week)
