The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
As a Senior Consultant Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer within the Team in Aberdeen, you will be responsible for the provision, quality and timely delivery of work based on clients’ agreed briefs and targets as well as being expected to take a pro-active role in developing new business and products for the group. Activities will be wide-ranging and are likely to include:
• assessment of the integrity and ‘fitness for purpose’ of EC&I equipment and systems
• studies of electrical power generation and distribution networks and their protection
• consulting on the suitability of control, instrumented protection and alarm systems
• HSE issues, legislative compliance and the application of electro-technical standards
• reliability improvement and the application of best practices in maintenance and operational improvement

You will be based in Aberdeen and much of the work will be requested by our clients in the North Sea Oil and Gas Industry; but you will also have the opportunity to see a wide range of Process Industries throughout the UK and, potentially, overseas. There will be a need to undertake some visits – usually of short duration – to client’s offices and industrial premises.

We will help you to continue your professional development by providing further technical training related to project requirements, where necessary. If you have
appropriate qualifications but have not yet obtained Chartered Engineer status, we will support you to become professionally registered and provide you with a Mentor during your further development and the application process.

As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for:
• Providing technical leadership of the EC&I engineering elements of projects handled by the Team
• Engaging with additional EC&I engineering manpower, from other parts of the company, brought in to support projects when necessary
• Ensuring the provision, quality and timely delivery of all work based on clients’ agreed requirements and targets.
• Achieving an identified personal utilisation target for contract work delivery.
• Fulfilling the role of Contract Manager for the successful delivery of work to achieve required target margins.

Taking a pro-active role in developing and securing new business. This will require working with the Consulting Manager, Aberdeen and liaison with members of the Business Development team regarding new prospects; providing information for potential clients; writing proposals and estimating the costs and resources required to

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- The ability to travel is required to be able to visit client sites, so applicants must have a UK driving license or be working towards obtaining one
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good analytical and problem solving skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A relevant Master’s degree is desirable but not essential, as well as a minimum 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or other numerate discipline.
