The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
As part of a long term alliance with a major Oil & Gas client based in Kuwait our client are undertaking major revamp and modification/upgrade projects to help modernize the client’s Main Gathering Centre located at Wafra, Kuwait with many sub-centres throughout the three main oil fields that require modifications and further expansion.

The candidate will be a Senior Control Systems Engineer with a proven track record in brownfield onshore oil and gas development projects to help support and grow a UK based project engineering design team that will execute FEED and detailed design projects as part of the overall modernisation project. Our client also handle most innovative projects involving Concept/ FEED studies, EPC Detailed Design Projects and Process Safety and Risk management as part of the overall project scope of works.

Good communication and presentation skills are essential. Some travel to Kuwait may be required.

The candidate should have
• Experience of electrical engineering in a wide range of process plants (Petro Chem, Oil & Gas and Chemical), both new build and plant modification
• Good interpersonal skills
• Confidence to interface with the client
• Good working knowledge of ATEX and hazardous area applications
• Appreciation of implementing and managing global workshare practises
• Significant experience in Oil & Gas brownfield FEED, EPC Design Projects
• Significant experience with Intrinsically Safe design concepts and Instrumented Protective Functions (IPF).
• Significant experience with Foundation Fieldbus
• Experience with Communications and OPC
The candidate should be able to
• Specify and design: DCS, ESD & F&G Systems including Control and shutdown philosophy, System Architecture Development, Equipment Specifications, DCS Functional Specification, ESD Cause & Effect Diagrams, F&G Cause & Effect Diagrams, F&G Layouts and Workpack generation
• Develop the full scope of the project including FEED, detail design, procurement, installation inspection, testing and commissioning
• Obtain and verify preliminary design and budgetary cost data from system vendors
• Manage the allocated hours, budgets and report progress to the C&I Lead
• Undertake C&I engineering design work in with true regard to Safety both in design detail and engineering design execution
• Carry out design work in compliance with the national, state and client asset Codes & Standards.
• Be innovative in design work with due regard to minimisation of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity
• Keep all project documentation in a state of readiness for Audit purposes
• Clearly understand the Codes and Standards applicable to the work carried out and raise deviations where necessary
• Carry out technical focal point duties if required
• Liaise with the client engineer on technical and engineering matters on a regular basis
• Promote good communications and co-ordination within the Instrument Team and with other disciplines

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A member of an appropriate institute, preferably degree qualified with EPC project experience in a Senior engineering role.
• Familiar with the key working standards
• Substantial years post qualification experience
• Extensive experience in Oil & Gas / Refinery sector
• Should be CEng. Ideally degree qualified however HND considered
