The Role:
Position Description:

The Senior Electrical Engineer is a member of the Crude Shipment Capacity Project Owners Engineering Team. The Project valued in excess of $500 Million is transitioning from FEED into Detailed Engineering and Construction in 2014.

The Senior Electrical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for providing technical as well as project engineering support to the CSC Project during all phases of Engineering and Construction and is also responsible for representing the Engineering Team for all Electrical/Power issues within the project.

Main Job Functions:
Technical review of the EPC Contractors Deliverables for electrical/power design, focused on but not limited to;
Technical designs, specifications, job packs, material take-off lists and drawing quality, data sheet etc.
Site surveys and studies required to provide input into the design.
Review and approval of Contractors ITP for all aspects of fabrication construction and installation
Participate in Acceptance Tests.
Ensure Electrical deliverables meet requirements and Engineering Standards.
Pro-actively review, monitor and report status of Contractors Electrical Engineering schedule.
Ensuring Operational Excellence, Operations Assurance and Safety in Design requirements are satisfied during all Engineering phases.
Support IIF culture within team and champion with EPC Contractor.
Support Project and Design Assurance activities and participating as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
Electrical engineering degree with a minimum ten years of detailed design experience preferably in Oil and Gas industry. Experience working in Kazakhstan is a distinct advantage. In addition, the following criteria will be applied in the selection process.

Familiar with GOST and SNIPs requirements for all electrical/power systems. Must be familiar with industry and international standards relating to electrical/power systems.
Sound knowledge of designs and modification of high, medium and low voltage power distribution and transmission systems, large horsepower electric motors, cathodic protection and associated electrical systems and equipment used in petrochemical industry. Perform witness tests of large motors and other electrical packages. Knowledge of electrical design software and computer models including reviews of models would be advantageous.
Project Knowledge:
Must have experience working in major capital project
