The Role:
The Senior Electrical Technician assists with the management of the Electrical Maintenance section of the LNG facility and maintains all electrical systems and equipment to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the production facilities. Contributes to the evaluation of plant change proposals and analyse electrical equipment failures and systems performance. During the Engineering, Procurement and Construction phase (Work Stage 4), actively participates in the commissioning and start up of the LNG Train. The Senior Electrical Technician also provides on the job (OTJ) mentoring and coaching of Electrical Technicians and Trainees.

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1- Be actively involved in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all electrical equipment, ensuring that such equipment is working to the highest availability, standards and industry practices.
2- Carry out all electrical related maintenance and testing activities such as routine and break-down maintenance, testing / verification & calibration of systems and shutdown activities as required.
3- Perform computer/ Microsoft Suite functions, have a clear understanding of the roles of the PC, DCS, PLC and Foundation Field Bus networking in the plant control systems.
4- Be knowledgeable in the operation, isolation and maintenance of HV & LV power distribution networks including Uninterruptible Power Supply systems, power generation equipment, transformers, AC & DC motors, and motor control centres.
5 - Be familiar with the procedures, precautions and equipment used for the testing and calibration of high voltage equipment for the LNG facility.
6 - Be familiar with the relevant Electrical Codes and the Company’s Electrical Safety Rules and Standard Operation Procedures.
7 - Actively support the LNG Safety Processes; Incident and Injury Free Culture (i.e. STOP, JSA’s, RCA’s), Implement OE/IIF standards, practices, and cultures. Ensure daily job routines for maintenance (PM/PdM) and repair activities follow the OE standards and practices, and IIF cultures. Create a safe work environment by identifying and eliminating/mitigating hazards and at risk behaviours and reporting unsafe conditions or practices.
8 - Reviews work in progress and at completion for compliance with standards of quality and safety. Be competent and thorough when using the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) ensuring all Work Orders are closed at the end of each job with the work activities, parts used and equipment status data being put into the system accurately. Assists with the estimation of material and labour requirements for assigned jobs. Prepares material requisitions for the Supervisors approval.
9 - Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all parties including the Instrument, Mechanical, Planning and Operations groups and key 3rd party contractors and service providers.
10 - Diagnoses electrical system malfunctions and prescribes repairs or changes in practice, applying their experience, knowledge and training. When electrical problems are complex or may lead to extended downtime or high costs they report the diagnosis to their Supervisor or Engineering Department for confirmation and approval of way forward.
11- In conjunction with his or her Supervisor, plans preventive maintenance, inspects equipment, diagnoses problems, determines corrective work required, estimates labour and material requirements, raises Corrective Work Orders and performs or directs work within assigned authority. Identify bad actors and propose and implement improvement changes.
12 - Assist in the mentoring and training of junior technicians assigned to the electrical maintenance group.
13 - Plan and lays out work in accordance with instructions or work requirement – utilizing drawings, sketches, and manuals as necessary. Performs and directs installation, adjustment and repair work.
14 - Ensure that assigned electrical maintenance work is performed in an efficient, safety, and economical manner and that maintenance crews under your control are fully productive.
15 - Deputizes as the electrical team lead as and when required i.e. Leave of absence

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 Years of experience in the Oil and Gas Sector. Previous Experience on LNG or Gas Plants will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 yrs experience as a Senior Electrical Technician working in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Have knowledge of the relevant Electrical Certification and Standards for the installation, inspection & maintenance requirements of Hazardous Area Equipment.
Sound experience in mentoring and coaching junior staff as part of their development and Nationalisation programme.
Have in depth Knowledge of HV Switching Procedures and Practices i.e. Company Authorised Electrical Person
